Senior Creative Director Footwear

Purpose and Scope

The Senior Creative Director Footwear will lead the development of industry-leading creative solutions for assigned concepts or categories, ensuring a highly relevant, desirable, and clear adidas brand image from sell-in to sell-out (consumer-facing).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement creative strategies that meet category, concept, and brief objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Product Design team to ensure holistic storytelling and consistency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consumer- and brand-focused creative solutions.
  • Lead the execution of creative strategies to achieve end-to-end creative excellence.
  • Manage and mentor a team of internal direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure success.
  • Review and approve production stages of final creative execution, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Maximize results within given budget and timeframes, driving business growth and success.
  • Contribute to the creation of annual and long-term Creative Direction strategies, aligning with adidas' mission and vision.
  • Present and communicate creative solutions effectively, selling ideas to various stakeholders and driving business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and change, initiating proposals and projects to drive innovation and growth.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge and appreciation for performance footwear.
  • Background in fashion product and fashion design or industrial product design.
  • Design apps: expert level (Adobe suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • IT skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint: advanced /Outlook.
  • Strong visual and verbal skills, with the ability to create impactful and exciting visuals.
  • Language: English: excellent.
  • 3D skills and knowledge of virtual tools are beneficial (Rhino, or similar 3D design tools).

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate level Design education or combination thereof.
  • At least 6-8 years of experience in the Sporting Goods/Fashion Industry or Design on a managerial level.
  • Proven experience with the entire design process (project scope and time planning, design steps, production/execution of design solutions).
  • Passion for adidas and its mission.
  • Passion for outdoor sports, culture, and design.
