Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Manager to join our team at Great Lakes Insurance SE. As a Risk Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's financial stability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform the annual capital model cycle for the Solvency II internal model, including contributing to its calibration, model changes, validation, and documentation.
- Conduct quantitative risk management and risk analytics, contributing to the use test of the capital model, including conducting stress and scenario testing and providing risk opinions on risk-taking decisions under consideration of the risk-bearing capacity of the company.
- Contribute to the regulatory and internal risk reporting cycles.
- Fulfill regulatory requirements and ad hoc studies, participating in projects.
- Ensure ongoing appropriate risk governance by maintaining documentation and approval procedures.
- Manage stakeholders and the wider embedment of the financial risk management framework at local as well as at group level.
- University degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or a similar quantitative field, ideally complemented with further training in risk management or finance.
- Actuarial education (Aktuar DAV or comparable qualification from another actuarial association) or the intention to complete/start it is an advantage.
- Working collaboratively and effectively in an international group dynamic and in a hybrid set-up.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to explain and present on senior management level.
- Experience in risk modelling, experience with coding languages (R) is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English, German skills at least at an intermediate level.
