Chief Cybersecurity and Functional Safety Strategist

MAHLE is a leading global developer and manufacturer of pioneering technologies for the automotive industry.

$150,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for developing and implementing the vision and strategy for Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety within the Business Unit.
• You will represent the Business Unit in various leadership forums and advise on Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety matters.
• You will participate in assessments and audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• You will enable the provision of resources to execute Cybersecurity and Functional Safety project activities.
• You will represent the Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety functions within Project Steering Committees.
• You will provide leadership, culture, and competence for Cybersecurity and Functional Safety.
• You will ensure that individuals performing or supporting Cybersecurity and/or Functional Safety activities have sufficient authority to fulfill their responsibilities.
• You will foster a safety culture that supports and encourages the effective achievement of Cybersecurity and Functional Safety.
• You will establish processes to ensure timely communication, analysis, and resolution of Functional Safety anomalies.
• You will collaborate with teams to develop technical and organizational roadmaps and align policies, processes, methods, and tools.
• You will provide an escalation path for security issues, incidents, and inquiries.
• You will support the setup of key management infrastructure applications.

• You must have at least 10 years of experience in the automotive industry in Engineering Development roles.
• You must have a degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar.
• You must have knowledge/experience in international compliance requirements, standards, and regulations.
• You must have knowledge/experience in Automotive international compliance engineering requirements and standards.
• You must be a Cybersecurity Engineering and/or Functional Safety Professional certified.
• You must have experience leading distributed engineering teams for Product Development Processes.
• You must have experience building a team, holding decisions on recruiting and organization design.
• You must have a track record of delivering business and technology results for complex initiatives while managing multiple priorities.
• You must have strong leadership, team development, motivation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• You must be able to manage multiple projects and navigate complex activities that span functions, organizations, regions, or cultures.
• You must have experience managing executive stakeholders, information, and communication.
• You must have very good knowledge of German and English.
