Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Lead Technician to join our team at the 405th Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) in Hohenfels, Germany. As a key member of our supply chain management team, you will be responsible for overseeing logistical support for activities within Vilseck, Grafenwoehr, Hohenfels, and Garmisch.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will serve as a lead supply technician, providing logistical support and guidance to subordinate employees. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing five automated accountable records consisting of 84 Storage Locations (SLOCs) for over five directorates and 200 permanently assigned units, divisions, and sections.
  • Ensuring Supply Clerks review SLOCs receipts signed semi-annually.
  • Analyzing data, identifying trends, and making recommendations to the Branch Chief.
  • Operating Logistics Information Systems (LIS) such as Global Combat Support System (GCSS-Army), Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW), etc., required to perform all assigned tasks.
  • Conducting Command Supply Discipline Program evaluations.
Leadership Responsibilities

The Logistics Lead Technician will also be responsible for leading approximately up to 10 employees engaged in creating, reviewing, and processing unit-level and/or property book-level transactions in Global Combat Support System (GCSS) –Army. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Initiating Purchase Requests and Committal (PR&C) in General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS).
  • Validating and accepting contractor invoices in Invoicing, Receipt, Acceptance, and Property Transfer (iRAPTS) formerly called Wild Area Work Flow (WAWF).
  • Providing subordinates with requirements and descriptions of work to be performed and tracking progress.
  • Sets work priorities according to regulations and local requirements.
  • Gives assistance on cases exceeding normal assignments referred by coworkers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a supply technician or similar position.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in GCSS-A and GFEBS.
  • Knowledge of logistics information systems and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Valid driver's license class B.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is €50,000 - €70,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a range of benefits, including:

  • 30 days of annual leave; 36 days for severely handicapped employees.
  • Vacation and Christmas pay (total of 13 monthly salaries).
  • Various additional social benefits (e.g., employer pension scheme through Allianz group insurance; property accrual payments).
