Master's Thesis: Optimizing Maintenance Processes in Battery Production

We are seeking a highly motivated Master's student to contribute to the development of enhanced information flows for maintenance processes in battery production. This project is a collaboration between the Fraunhofer Institute for Battery Cell Production FFB, Northvolt, and the IDEA League Universities RWTH Aachen University and Chalmers University of Technology.
The successful candidate will work on mapping, analyzing, and enhancing data and information flows for maintenance processes in battery production. Leveraging modern technologies such as big data, machine learning, and cloud architecture, the student will explore the potential of data in optimizing maintenance in gigafactories, focusing on real-time monitoring, remote inspections, digital documentation, and their integration with computerized maintenance management systems.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable subject. A basic understanding of production systems and maintenance is required, as well as knowledge in data analytics and the basics of machine learning. High grades are meritorious.
