Welcome to the University of Konstanz, one of Germany's eleven Universities of Excellence. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our ERC project on the environmental aesthetics of early automobility.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in history of knowledge or science and a demonstrated interest in the environmental humanities. A very good doctoral dissertation is essential for this position.

Responsibilities include contributing expertise to the ERC project, developing an independent research project on environmental knowledge in early twentieth-century North America, co-organizing a conference, publishing research results, and minor administrative duties.

To be considered, applicants should have a very good doctoral dissertation with a focus on history of knowledge or history of science, interest in the environmental humanities and North American history, and ability to attend in-person events in Konstanz about once a month.
