Job Description
As a Regional Hub Operations Leader for Hapag-Lloyd's North Europe operations, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth connections between our hub ports and aligning commercial volume flows with operational requirements. You will act as the command center for operations in one of our defined hub ports, driving cooperation with the hub and supporting the setup of capacity and operational capabilities.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Act as the command center in control of the operations in one of our defined hub ports
- Drive Hapag-Lloyd's cooperation with the hub and support in setting up capacity and operational capabilities, closely engaging with the terminal with a performance-driven mindset to ensure smooth operation
- Provide direction and guidance to our local operations and commercial and equipment teams on requirements to connect containers (full and empty) in our Hubs
- Ensure long-term planning (~three months) and executional plan (~four weeks) are aligned with all relevant stakeholders to allow productive hub operations
- Responsible for consistent operations in ports (quay side, yard and gate operation), linked with speedy turnaround of vessels and reliable transshipment activities
- Ensure volume flow projections are aligned with terminal limitations and where needed act as escalation and decision point to avoid any operational breakdown in our hubs
- Act as lead in managing crisis and incidents impacting our container and vessel operations in our hub terminal
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience in the shipping, terminal and/or logistics industry
- Strategic and analytical thinking linked with strong stakeholder management
- Independent decision-making and ability to lead and drive change
- Team player, able to engage teams and strong argumentation skills
- Fluent business English, both written and spoken
