We are seeking a motivated and talented Aerospace Software Engineer to join our team at OHB. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative company that specializes in space technology.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and constructing testing platforms to validate Guidance, Navigation and Control software. You will create software that enables running tests within a Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL, HIL) environment, develop tools for frequent and dependable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis as components of a continuous integration and release system, and collaborate closely with developers to deliver a reliable, fast, precise, and user-friendly unified testing platform.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, developing, and constructing testing platforms to effectively validate Guidance, Navigation and Control software.
  • Creating software that enables running tests within a Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL, HIL) environment.
  • Developing tools that allow for frequent and dependable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis as components of a continuous integration and release system.
  • Analysing test results and identifying flaws that demand extensive scrutiny with engineers throughout the organisation.
  • Collaborating closely with developers to deliver a reliable, fast, precise, and user-friendly unified testing platform.
  • Integration and troubleshooting of Avionics hardware/software through on-site participation.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in the testing systems and devising innovative solutions.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A current student status in electrical, mechanical, software engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in any of the following languages: Python, C++, MATLAB, LabView.
  • Resourceful problem-solving skills capable of integrating multiple disciplines, assessing risk, and making design and development decisions with limited data availability.
  • Experience in Python and Bash scripting languages as well as CI/CD processes.
  • Experience working with electronic components, wire harnesses, and electrical testing equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.).
  • Understanding network-based communication protocols and their accompanying debugging tools.
  • Capable of hands-on work with Avionics Hardware and Mechanical Systems.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools is considered advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere.
  • Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English).
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is €40,000 - €60,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible working hours, health insurance, and a comprehensive training program.
