Overview

Frasers Hospitality, a global hospitality leader, is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Operations Specialist to join our finance team in Frankfurt, Germany.

This is a key role within the company, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of our German properties under ownership and management.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial operations expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to various stakeholders.

About the Role

We are offering a competitive salary of €60,000-€80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including 13th month salary, 28 days vacation per year, and a comprehensive pension scheme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the smooth running of German hotel financial operations, providing support to the Area GM EU, GMs, operational managers, and financial reporting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review of monthly management accounts, including P&L and Balance Sheet, in accordance with applicable Group and local accounting standards and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Group and local accounting policies and procedures, and prepare financial reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide commentary on monthly financial performance and variances.
  • Main finance liaison between Area GM EU, operations at properties, and London Head office.
  • Lead on relationships with external and internal auditors, other consultants, and banks.
  • Ensure VAT returns for all properties are processed accurately within deadlines.
  • Prepare and review group consolidations.
  • Lead on systems and process efficiency projects.
  • Lead on regulatory and statutory requirements, including tax returns and payments, local accounts to German regulatory standards, and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
  • Adequate internal controls and ongoing compliance with Group policies/statutory requirements.
  • Resolution of finance-related queries and provide support to the team.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting process with supporting financial analysis, insight, and commentary.
  • Support and assist the team on the ground as needed.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar professional qualification.
  • Proven industry experience, preferably in the hospitality sector.
  • Proficient in German language (writing/speaking).
  • Personable, positive, dynamic professional who works flexibly and collaboratively to achieve deadlines.
  • Previous team management experience.
  • Proven capability to communicate financial information to various stakeholders, especially with non-financial backgrounds.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to identify errors and offer workable solutions.
  • Strong systems skills with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • A disciplined approach to production and documentation of work.
  • Strong team player who can demonstrate an ability to take ownership of work streams, work independently of senior management oversight, and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
