What to Expect

In our Center of Expertise Data & AI, we're bringing together the core data and AI capabilities of the Zurich Group in Germany. As a Senior Data Scientist in the AI area, you'll be the central point of contact for the Data Science team in the CoE Data & AI. Your exciting tasks will include:

  • You'll develop Data Science and AI application cases together with the team, departmental, and IT representatives.
  • You'll accompany use cases throughout their entire lifecycle, from data provision to production and maintenance.
  • You'll actively contribute to the further development of the AI platform in terms of governance, guidelines, and methods.
  • You'll train employees from departments and IT in the use of Data Science and AI methods and take over the training function for apprentices in the AI area.
  • In the future, you can imagine taking on responsibility for professional and/or disciplinary topics.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with strong communication skills and a strong team player. We're excited about your application if you're characterized by the following qualifications:

  • You bring several years of experience in the Data Science and AI area.
  • In recent years, you've successfully developed AI models, brought them into production with process owners and IT units, and further developed them throughout their lifecycle.
  • The EU AI Act is not a foreign word to you, and you live an ethical approach to data and AI.
  • You've completed a degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Actuarial Mathematics, or a comparable qualification.
  • It's ideal if you have programming experience in Python, R, and SQL, as well as the corresponding DevOps and MLOps procedures.
  • You've already worked with analytical models and AI (Machine Learning, NLP, GenAI) in practice.
  • You have knowledge of common interfaces such as REST and experience in jointly building interfaces and API services with IT departments.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Lake II, Databricks, and Azure ML is an advantage.
