Job DescriptionAs a member of our science team, you will assess the impact potential of innovative products and services across different sectors and regions.
- You will analyse the environmental performance of investment opportunities and identify potential risks.
- You will calculate consequential Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) of products and services.
- You will gather data from scientific sources and startups.
- You will further develop Planet A's impact assessment methodology.
- You will do environmental research to form new investment hypotheses.
- You will support portfolio startups (on request) and work closely with our internal and external network of experts.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial ecology, natural sciences, or similar.
- Extensive experience in conducting scientifically based LCAs, preferably in an industrial or business context.
- Possession of knowledge of consequential LCA and methods to assess biodiversity is an asset but not a must.
- Passion for calculating and understanding environmental impact with excellent analytical skills, an eye for details, structured work approach, prioritising skills, problem-solving orientation, and planning skills.
- A self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative.
- A team player with a strong work ethic, humility, a can-do attitude, and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience in using Google or MS-Office applications, especially Excel/Google Sheets; aptitude for learning new software.
