About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at Bertrandt. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for driving the development of new products and solutions for the medical, pharmaceutical, and diagnostics industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and execute projects in new product development and optimization of film solutions for the aforementioned industries.
  • Commission, execute, and evaluate laboratory analyses and prepare data.
  • Support customer presentations.
  • Plan, monitor, and evaluate cascade tests.
  • Plan and accompany deep-drawing and packaging tests at the customer's site.
  • Develop new measurement methods and laboratory instructions.
  • Maintain a company-wide product portfolio in collaboration with local technical contact partners (primarily France, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany).
  • Additional tasks may be added based on your skills and experience: GMP setup, product and master data maintenance, change management process, complaint handling.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree in packaging technology, mechanical engineering, chemistry, or plastics technology, or equivalent technical training with subsequent further education as a technician/master.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in application technology, process development, research and development, or a comparable field (extrusion knowledge is desirable).
  • Good English skills in writing and speaking, a second foreign language (e.g., French) is a plus.
  • You are characterized by analytical thinking and technical understanding.
  • You are willing to undertake occasional travel activities within and outside the country (approximately 20%).
