We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatics expert to join our team at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

About the Job

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in translational tumor immunology, focusing on blood malignancies and stem cell transplantation. As a computational postdoctoral research fellow, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on dissecting tumor and immune cell interactions and developing strategies for long-term tumor control using modern single-cell genomics and spatial transcriptomics sequencing methods.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and supervision of single-cell, bulk, and spatial sequencing experiments in collaboration with other group members
  • Analysis of single-cell datasets (single-cell RNA/DNA/TCR/ATAC sequencing)
  • Analysis of spatial datasets
  • Development of custom sequencing methods and analysis pipelines

You will work closely with the Max-Eder research group led by Dr. med. Livius Penter, who aims to answer translational tumor immunologic questions in the context of blood malignancies using innovative immunogenomics data analysis approaches. Additionally, you will supervise and guide the work of PhD, master, and medical students.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A completed doctoral degree with expertise in computational methods and complex omics data analyses
  • Strong programming skills in R, Python, shell, or similar languages in a UNIX environment
  • Previous experience in single-cell, bulk, and spatial sequencing methods
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
