Mechanic Technician (Funkgesteuerte Zielscheibenanlagen)Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic Technician to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for testing, installing, reconditioning, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical malfunctions in various types of target lifting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test and install electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical components in target lifting systems
- Repair and replace parts such as relays, switches, rectifiers, diodes, and other electrical components
- Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions
- Fabricate and repair sensor cable assemblies
- Test and install electrical target systems, including distribution panels, power conditioners, motor start controls, transformers, and interconnect boxes
- Replace and repair electrical wiring, battery cables, suppression boards, and other electrical components
- Repair and test hydraulic parts in moving target carriers, stationary, and personnel target lifting mechanisms and track assemblies
- Assemble and install individual thermal heating cables for target silhouettes
- Maintain detailed knowledge of range operating characteristics and interface requirements of equipment components and software
- Perform range restoral and network maintenance actions
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair components of a range operating Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and Very High speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) network system
Requirements:
- Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade
- 5 years of specialized experience, or
- Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent
- 8 years of specialized experience, of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level
- German driver's license class B
- German Language Proficiency level B2
Working Conditions:
- Shift work required
- Lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs required
