Industry Engagement Liaison

Key Responsibilities

The Industry Engagement Coordinator position is a grant-funded role housed within the Florida Department of Corrections Central Office location. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Compiling information on new industry engagements and maintaining employer data.
  • Informing prospective employers about procedures and processes for working with the Florida Department of Corrections to increase industry engagements for pre-release training and hiring events.
  • Providing industry insights and explaining available benefits of being a fair chance employer, such as work opportunity tax credits, federal bonding, a motivated workforce, skills training inside institutions, and more.
  • Gathering information on prospective employer partner needs and maintaining timely contact information.
  • Compiling data on job candidates for sharing with partner employers.
  • Scheduling Open Houses and Informational Sessions for employers to engage students in Compass and Career/Technical education classes via DTEN technology.

Requirements: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience in workforce development, business development, or partnership development or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry, effective written and oral communication skills, and a valid Florida Driver's License are also required.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Florida Department of Corrections policies and procedures, Compass 100 Hybrid program objectives, curriculum development, project evaluation, administrative principles, office procedures, data collection methods, effective communication principles, and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word software.
