Lunit, a pioneering medical AI software company, is dedicated to delivering AI-powered total cancer care solutions. Our mission is to revolutionize cancer treatment outcomes through cutting-edge AI research and development.

As a key member of our AI Division, you will contribute to the advancement of our AI-powered medical imaging solutions, working closely with a talented team of researchers and engineers. Together, we will push the boundaries of AI research, driving innovation and improving the lives of cancer patients.

About the Role

  • Design and implement AI models to advance our medical imaging solutions and the state-of-the-art in AI research.
  • Collaborate with Medical Doctors, Product Managers, and Research Engineers to develop novel projects that align with Lunit's needs and goals.
  • Contribute to the internal research codebases with high-quality code and development standards.
  • Publish research outcomes at top-tier journals and conferences, or other means of public dissemination.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of research experience in machine learning or deep learning, preferably focusing on computer vision, medical image analysis, or natural language processing.
  • Masters or Doctorate in computer science, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of and experience with contemporary machine learning and image analysis techniques, and related software packages (e.g., deep neural nets, PyTorch, Tensorflow).
  • Strong interest in working on medical problems and advancing the standard of care using AI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience in need-finding and designing ML-based software systems and deploying them to production environments.
  • Highly responsible, with an eye for detail and motivated to build high-quality and reliable solutions following current best practices.
  • Team player with experience working in interdisciplinary research teams.

Preferred Experiences

  • 7+ years of research experience and 2+ years of industrial research experience.
  • Solid experience with Git, Python, unit/integration testing, multithreading, and other software development practices.
  • Experience working with image data, particularly medical images.
  • First-author publications in top-tier Computer Vision or Medical Imaging conferences or journals.
  • Passion for advancing healthcare and combating cancer through AI research.
  • Proactive in sharing knowledge, initiating collaborations, and promoting a positive research environment.
  • Solid understanding and awareness of recent trends in AI Research.
  • Contributions to open-source repositories in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related areas.
  • Participation in competitive Computer Vision/Medical Imaging challenges.
