About Meliá Hotels International

As a Business Controller, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our operations and ensuring that our hotels meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for administration and dry storage areas in assigned hotels.
- Identify and communicate any needs or opportunities in hotels under your responsibility to the Business Partner.
- Provide support to the OC Business Partner, analyzing relevant information and advising the Hotel Manager and other operational departments in assigned hotels.
- Transfer any incidents in administration and dry storage services in business units to the Business Partner.
- Participate in the process of opening or disaffiliating business units within your OC.
Budget and Close of Accounts
- Review budget guidelines with assigned business units to resolve any doubts.
- Participate in the preparation of the budget for assigned hotels.
- Monitor the budget for assigned hotels and report any relevant deviations or incidents to the Business Partner.
- Participate in the definition of corrective measures and monitor compliance with them.
- Carry out local processes for the close of accounts in assigned hotels. Analyze and report any deviations compared to forecasts to the Business Partner.
- Participate in the preparation of forecasts for operational departments in assigned hotels together with the Hotel Manager.
Control
- Apply and ensure compliance with Hotel Administration and Accounting rules, processes, and procedures in assigned hotels.
- Assist with internal audits in assigned hotels.
- Coordinate cash control activities, checking the general status of administrative processes. For hotels not served by MHS, send a monthly summary of the hotels' cash control registers to the BP.
- Coordinate cost control duties, analyzing and optimizing them in assigned hotels.
Corporate and Financial
- At the request of the Business Partner, prepare or assist in the preparation of reports for hotel owners/joint ventures.
Transactional
- In hotels that receive a centralized Credit Management service from Hotel Services, be informed about the amount pending payment, the service received, and compliance with SLAs.
- In other hotels, monitor the payment collection process implemented in the Operations Centre to ensure requests for payment and collection within defined deadlines to reduce the average collection period and avoid non-payments.
- In hotels that receive a centralized service from MHS, report any incidents to the Business Partner.
- Supervise the posting of movements in accounts made in assigned business units.
- Identify and propose improvements that optimize efficiency in the workplace.
