Physicist/Engineer (m/f/d) for Particle Beam Technology/Control

At Applied Materials, we are seeking a highly skilled Physicist/Engineer to join our R&D team in the development and testing of our future generations of electron beam columns. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing novel particle beam systems that meet high-end technical requirements for inspection and metrology in the semiconductor industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement novel particle beam systems for inspection and metrology in the semiconductor industry.
- Define system requirements and specifications, and troubleshoot system problems.
- Plan and conduct tests of new technologies on prototypes in the laboratory.
- Collect, analyze, and design statistically valid experiments.
- Guide less experienced physicists/scientists.
- Evaluate new technologies and pursue innovative solutions.
- Collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary international R&D team.
- Scientific and technical degree, preferably with a doctorate in physics or a comparable discipline.
- Practical experience in the design, construction, and operation of particle beam systems.
- Knowledge of electron microscopy (SEM/TEM) and electron optics, as well as high-voltage technology.
