About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Amazon Deutschland Transport GmbH - B78. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team, you will play a crucial role in driving improvements in our safety culture and ensuring compliance with local Health and Safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency.
  • Implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies.
  • Drive programmes to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders across the company to achieve our safety goals.
About the Team

Our WHS team works closely with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations. We are a people-focused and supportive team, particularly as many of our people work through the night. We focus on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.

Requirements
  • Education to a degree level and "Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit" certification.
  • Professional training (Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung) in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics.
  • Relevant experience managing projects.
  • Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and German.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership.
  • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
