Microscope Specialist

The Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg is seeking a highly skilled Microscope Specialist to join our team in the lab of Kristian Franze.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our microscopes, working closely with our international team to advance our research in the field of biophysics.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support and maintenance of microscopes to ensure optimal performance
• Training laboratory staff and collaborators on microscope operation and maintenance
• Support for research projects requiring advanced microscopy techniques
• Development and implementation of new microscope technologies
• Management of online booking calendars and equipment documentation

Requirements:

• Master's or Diploma degree in biology, physics, engineering sciences, or a related discipline
• Excellent knowledge of microscopy principles and techniques
• Good communication and team-working skills
• High personal motivation, flexibility, and reliability

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with atomic force microscopy and/or optical tweezers
• Knowledge of image analysis software and techniques
• Experience working in safety areas
