About the Role:

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Data Center Operations Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture.
  • Data Center Operations (DCO): Ensure that all aspects of our hardware and network systems are operational within our Data Center sites.

What You'll Do:

  • Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to Data Center technicians and operators.
  • Routinely review ticket queues for large events and act accordingly.
  • Educate, train, and guide Data Center Operations Technicians in best practices relating to resolving service owner issues.
  • Manage and deliver mid-size projects.
  • Recommend, write, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Manage a diverse team of Data Center Technicians with varying skills.
  • Maintain the on-call schedule, and coordinate absence and vacations ensuring 24/7 operations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency calls.
  • Recruit and train Data Center Technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Write and deliver performance reviews for staff.

Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification or degree in IT field or job-related experience.
  • Very good command of English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word), ticketing systems, and web-based operational tools.
  • Direct people management experience and proven track record of success in delivering projects despite competing priorities and distractions.
