Job Description

E.ON Energy Markets GmbH is a subsidiary of the E.ON Group based in Germany, with activities in various European countries. Our main purpose is to coordinate access to trading markets for our regional business units, bundling associated chances and risks, and providing innovative services. Core competencies include portfolio strategies, risk management, and data processing.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, challenge, and report relevant financial and risk KPIs as well as deltas to plan for the group-wide Energy Markets function and E.ON Energy Markets GmbH.
  • Build up a new state-of-the-art reporting infrastructure for the Energy Markets portfolios and enable automation for visualization.
  • Ensure and enhance transparency of value drivers (especially cost structure and cash flow) and financial KPIs.
  • Review Special/Complex Transaction Approvals from a Controlling standpoint.
  • Prepare the Energy Markets Mid-Term Plan (MTP) for E.ON SE board and provide transparency on Energy Markets cost structures and inter-company charges.
  • Prepare and deliver ad-hoc analysis, reports, and presentations for executive stakeholders and relevant decision bodies.
  • Interface with various central and regional stakeholders: Group Financial Controlling & Business Controlling, regional Risk & Finance functions, Energy Markets (central and regional functions), Group Finance, Digital Technology, board, etc.
Requirements:
  • Numerate and analytical university degree.
  • Experience in the energy sector, including energy procurement, sales, or trading as an Analyst, Energy Economist, Commercial Controller, Risk Manager, or Front Officer.
  • Track record in automating (big) data processes or data visualization (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Good commercial understanding of performance drivers of a commodity or energy portfolio; ability to translate root causes into clear, intuitive explanations for stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective communication, partnering, customer individual storytelling, and empathy.
  • Excellent understanding of commodity and renewables markets (power, gas, certificates).
  • Willingness to work in a commercial and high-performance market environment; proactive, self-motivated, and flexible regarding workload and changing priorities.
  • Languages: English, German would be advantageous.
