Logos Hope: Main Engine Specialist

Job Summary
The First Engineer, Main Engine will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance of Main Engines and auxiliaries on board the Logos Hope.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Engine Team to maintain the Main Engines and auxiliaries in optimal condition.
- Support the First Engineer Operations and Marine Operations team to ensure a balanced workload.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the Main Engines and auxiliaries are in good working condition.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and ratings.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- Valid Certificate of Competency (STCW Reg III/2)
- Valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate in compliance with ILO/IMO Guidelines
- Crisis Management & Human Behaviour (STCW Reg V/2)
- Basic Safety Training (STCW Reg VI/1)
- Proficiency in Survival Crafts & Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats (STCW Reg VI/2)
- Advanced Fire Fighting (STCW Reg VI/3)
- Medical First Aid (STCW Reg VI/4)
- Security Training for seafarers with designated security duties (STCW Reg VI/6)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to fulfill the requirements of the job description
- Ability to effectively set and manage priorities
- Leadership skills to motivate and train junior engineers and ratings
