Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Life Science R&D department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components for our high-end mass spectrometers. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the quality and functionality of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop complex mechanical parts, including assemblies for high vacuum and ion optical parts
- Work alongside a highly motivated, multinational, and interdisciplinary team to develop innovative products
- Participate in product development teams and project planning to ensure effective decision-making
- Prepare production documentation and test procedures to ensure seamless and transparent transfer to series production
- Engage in on-the-bench and in-system design verification to ensure product quality and functionality
- Contribute to effective decision-making by calculating product and process costs
- Provide technical support to suppliers, assisting in their qualification process
- Involved in Change Management (ECO) and Quality Control during product commercialization phase
- University degree in mechanical engineering or related fields
- Extensive professional experience in designing high-quality mechanical parts and assemblies for complex multi-component systems
- Solid understanding of Product Development Practices, Processes, and Tools, preferably in the context of sophisticated analytical instruments
- Proven experience in 3-D solid modeling, with SolidWorks preferred
- Strong mechanical engineering background with in-depth knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and materials
- Experience in 'should cost' analysis of mechanical components and assemblies
