Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Information Security Engineer to join our Information Security Team in Munich. This role requires a senior specialist who can bridge global cybersecurity programs with local execution, ensuring robust protection across all regions while adhering to the highest standards and policies established by the headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the cybersecurity strategy for the EU region, aligned with the global security vision and goals.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between EU and other regional cybersecurity teams to address cross-regional threats and incidents.
  • Participate in global cybersecurity operations, including vulnerability remediation and risk control, ensuring alignment with headquarters' security architecture, standards, and policies.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks within the EU region, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, including data protection laws and industry standards.
  • Manage the response to cybersecurity incidents in the EU region, ensuring timely and effective resolution, and coordinate with global incident response teams to manage incidents with cross-regional implications.
  • Develop and implement security awareness programs tailored to the EU region, ensuring continuous training and upskilling of the cybersecurity team and territory employees.
  • Generate regular reports on the cybersecurity posture of the EU region to the global CISO, develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of cybersecurity initiatives, and participate in periodic global cybersecurity meetings to align on routine work and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with management experience as a plus.
  • Experience in cybersecurity compliance, regulatory compliance, or related roles, including GDPR, NIS2, Cybersecurity Framework, and others.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Proven program management skills with the ability to plan-build-run in a global diverse team, excellent cross-regional collaboration skills, and a multi-cultural background with the ability to navigate and bridge cultural differences effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of EU cybersecurity regulations and data protection laws, and experience ensuring compliance with both local and international regulatory requirements.
Nice to Have
  • Cloud-related security certifications, such as Microsoft AZ-500 Cloud Security Engineer.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27000-family framework and controls.
  • Knowledge of EU regulations, including GDPR, NIS2, HIPAA, HiTech, and Final Omnibus Rule.
