Senior Java Backend Engineer in AI Startup

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our team at Checktur GmbH, a leading provider of AI-powered logistics solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our microservices, APIs, data layers, mobile apps, and dashboards on our SaaS platform.
Our team is passionate about innovation and excellence, and we are looking for someone who shares our values and is eager to contribute to our mission of transforming the transportation and logistics industry through the use of AI and intelligent software solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our CTO to define the technology strategy and drive the development of our SaaS platform.
- Take ownership of the entire development cycle, from architecture to implementation, automated testing, performance testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Implement and optimize backend services, features, algorithms, and APIs to ensure scalability, usability, performance, stability, and maintainability.
- Work closely with mobile and web engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our customers' needs.
- Participate in our ideation and innovation process to identify new opportunities for growth and development.
- Guide and advise junior colleagues on software quality, best practices, and design patterns.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a senior Java developer, with additional experience in Python or Kotlin a plus.
- Professional experience with backend frameworks such as Spring or similar.
- Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and flexible data storage strategies, including SQL and NoSQL solutions.
- Understanding of algorithms and their complexity.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS, and building apps with Docker containers.
- Experience with automated deployment and monitoring through CI/CD pipelines.
