Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Metadata Engineer to join our team. As a Metadata Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing taxonomies, developing and managing data catalogs, creating business glossaries, and optimizing metadata for search and discoverability.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Implement Taxonomies: Develop and refine product taxonomies to enable efficient navigation and content enrichment.
- Develop and Manage Data Catalogs: Create and update a centralized data dictionary of entities, attributes, data processes, applications, and services, and their relationships.
- Create Business Glossaries: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a glossary of business terms, policies, and standards, ensuring consistent terminology, understanding, and handling of data.
- Optimize Metadata: Implement metadata tagging and classification strategies to enhance data organization and discoverability.
- Search Optimization: Optimize metadata for search, discoverability, and self-service.
- Data Ownership Workbench: Manage a function that provides a space for all business and technical personas to collaborate and curate data knowledge with approval workflows and feedback.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience with data catalog tools and metadata management.
- Skills: Familiarity with taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and classification systems, effective communication skills that foster collaboration and clear expectation management, passion for pets, and commitment to Fressnapf's mission.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience with the green field implementation of industry-leading data catalog tools.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of storage technologies and architecture.
