Key Responsibilities
As a Chemical Engineer / Materials Scientist for Material Controlling in Automotive, you will be responsible for:
- Creating, reviewing, and approving IMDS material data sheets in accordance with internal standards and international laws within the automotive development process.
- Analyzing and evaluating material data based on legal and safety-relevant chemical substances using the IMDS. Presenting the clearly prepared results to customers.
- Creating and evaluating vehicle part lists. Obtaining missing material data from the supply chain. Independently and proactively tracking sent requests and regularly providing status reports to customers.
- Serving as a technical point of contact and advisor for customers on material bans. Providing technical support on IMDS and material bans for OEMs and suppliers through a helpdesk.
- Occasional participation in life cycle assessments of various vehicles.
- Creating reports, overviews, and project-specific presentations as part of daily business, as well as maintaining schedules and protocols.
- Documenting procedures and latest findings. Continuously improving workflows and knowledge transfer within the team.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Vehicle Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a comparable technical education with relevant professional experience.
- Practical knowledge of chemical and physical properties of materials, as well as experience with material data management systems.
