As a patent examiner at the European Patent Office (EPO), you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of innovation. Our team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join us in examining patent applications related to semiconductors.

About the Role

  • Perform end-to-end examination of patent applications in our three official languages
  • Research, find, and use the most relevant prior art to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of the invention's novelty and inventive step
  • Support the entire innovation ecosystem by making well-reasoned decisions on whether a patent is to be granted
  • Ensure the uniform and effective application of the European Patent Convention and other legal texts

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant technical field, such as electrical engineering, physics, or materials science
  • Excellent knowledge of one of our official languages (English, French, or German) and the ability to understand the other two
  • Work experience in industry would be an advantage
  • Citizenship of one of the European Patent Organisation member states
