We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Projektträger Jülich. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our IT systems.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and manage Windows and Linux servers
- Betterment of user-facing hardware and software in technical and administrative aspects
- Third-level support and system monitoring
- User guidance on selecting individual solutions for hardware and software use
- Implementation and administration of database and proxy systems
- Conceptualization, implementation, and evaluation of measures and system solutions, particularly for hardening the IT infrastructure and ensuring information security according to ISO 27001 based on IT-Grundschutz
- Creation and updating of IT security assessments and concepts
- Participation in developing solution approaches for using firewalls and cryptography, including subsequent implementation, as well as conceptualization and implementation of backup and disaster recovery concepts
- Completed university degree (Bachelor or Diplom FH) in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology
- Professional experience in server virtualization and server management for Windows and Linux servers
- Excellent knowledge and experience with VMware vSphere, anti-virus software, Matrix42, and/or Citrix Server, as well as knowledge of SSO (LDAP, ADFS), automation, and PowerShell
- Comprehensive knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience with automation tools, hardware management, and SAN installation
- Knowledge of various project management methods and quality management, as well as experience in project management and leading IT projects
- Desirable knowledge of ISO 27001 based on IT-Grundschutz
- Excellent communication skills and good German language skills in writing and speaking
