The Small Animal Clinic of the Animal Hospital Freie Universität Berlin is a leading institution in the field of small animal and pet medicine in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. As a central university contact for veterinary-clinical services, we provide comprehensive teaching and research activities, as well as medical care for all types of small pets and small wild animals.

Job Responsibilities:

• Providing veterinary care to surgical patients, including attending to outpatients and inpatients in the field of small animal surgery
• Independent teaching in accordance with the German Teaching Obligations Ordinance (LVVO) in the field of canine and feline surgery, including lectures, propaedeutics, clinical rotations, emergency courses, and elective duties
• Conducting examinations in surgery (state examinations) and propaedeutics
• Participating in the training of residents and obtaining the qualification of veterinary specialist in surgery
• Engaging in research in the field of small animal surgery

Requirements:

• Specialist veterinarian for small animal surgery or Diplomate of the European / American College of Veterinary Surgery; doctorate in veterinary medicine; veterinary license as well as at least three years of experience in veterinary medicine in a full-time employment after the attainment of the university degree.
