Manufacturing Equipment Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join our team at STRATO Personal GmbH. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the equipment acquisition and development process, ensuring manufacturability, and driving process optimization and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the equipment acquisition and development process with external partners, from design concepts to commissioning and handover into operations.
- Assure manufacturability on planned machinery for all assemblies and components involved by coordinating between stakeholders.
- Buy-off and commissioning of production equipment, including external and internal verification.
- Drive the implementation of key processes from equipment, material, and process selection to optimized volume production.
- Provide guidance and suggestions for manufacturing technologies and concepts.
- Implement, manage, and continuously improve our production equipment and processes to enable global scaling.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering colleagues to develop process capability for associated components.
- Drive technical and process-based improvement projects, including root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Engage in a global network for technology acquisition, new product designs, and modern production system solutions.
Requirements:
- Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering degree.
- 2-4 years of experience in Equipment Acquisition for assembly lines, ideally in automotive and/or aircraft assembly environment.
- Experience in writing specifications for low-volume and high-volume assembly equipment.
- Experience in ramping-up assembly lines from prototyping to serial production.
- Knowledge in PFMEA (Process Failure Mode And Effects Analysis) required, MFMEA (Machine Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) a plus.
- Excellent analytical capabilities, drive to challenge the status quo, and excellent communication skills.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Experience in DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
- Fluent English language skills.
