About the Role

As a Fluid Mechanics Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will be part of a motivated and multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of industrial steam turbine blading. With global product responsibility in the industrial steam turbine network, our team is based at multiple locations worldwide. You will work on the design and optimization of high-, medium-, and low-pressure steam turbine blades, supporting the creation and implementation of the blade and technology development roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimization of steam turbine blades, including numerical fluid mechanics and 3D flow calculations
  • Planning and evaluation of model and field measurements, analysis of experience feedback from the global steam turbine fleet
  • Creation and further development of design rules and conception, processing and supervision of research and development projects in cooperation with external research institutions and in Siemens Energy's internal international engineering network
  • Support the other areas such as purchasing, production, assembly, order processing, quotation, and sales

Requirements

  • University degree in the field of turbomachinery, aerospace engineering, energy technology or similar and relevant turbomachinery experience
  • Many years of professional and project experience in the field of blade design
  • Very good knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics or aeroelastics
  • In-depth knowledge of numerical methods (CFD) for calculating and evaluating flow pattern and phenomena required, preferably using ANSYS CFX
  • Knowledge of mechanics desirable
  • Proficient in German and English
