Senior Linux Engineer for Cloud-Native Applications

Adfinis AG, a leading systems integrator based in Switzerland, is driving digitalization with open standards and technologies.
We are looking for a seasoned SysAdmin/DevOps Engineer to join our German team of four people, who will be responsible for designing and implementing cluster solutions, container platforms, automation tools, security measures, and CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities- Provisioning and Maintenance: Configure, maintain, upgrade, and monitor Linux server systems, cloud-managed services, and applications.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues with Linux server systems and cloud infrastructure, providing expert technical assistance.
- Cloud Native Application Support: Collaborate with developer teams to implement and integrate cloud-native applications.
- In-Depth Problem-Solving: Identify root causes of malfunctions, work with software suppliers if necessary, and develop long-term solutions.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze monitoring events, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to optimize operations.
- Tech Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation from scratch.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with customers, participate in meetings, and build strong relationships.
Mandatory Skills
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a system engineer in Linux-based, Kubernetes-centric enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in Open Source cloud and container technologies (Red Hat Openshift, SUSE Rancher, EKS, AKS, Docker preferred).
- Familiarity with GitLab, Jenkins, HashiCorp, Red Hat, and/or SUSE solutions.
- Good working knowledge of the journey towards enterprise IT to Cloud and DevOps.
- Strong understanding of HashiCorp Terraform and Hashicorp Vault.
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher, preferably C1 level.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with web servers, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, LDAP, OpenID Connect, KVM Virtualization, OpenSearch, Bash, Python, and/or NFS.
- Knowledge of Open Source automation technologies (Ansible, Saltstack, Puppet).
- AWS, Azure, and/or GCP certifications.
- GitLab, HashiCorp, Red Hat, and/or SUSE certifications.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer and/or SUSE Certified Engineer.

The estimated salary for this position is around €80,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Adfinis AG offers an attractive compensation package that reflects the market rate.
