The Army Theater Operations Department within MITRE's National Security Engineering Center is seeking a Communications Network Engineer with experience in Army/DoD communications and information systems, and strategic cloud implementation. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to engage and learn new technologies to respond to rapidly changing sponsor needs, assisting USAREUR-AF with network and cloud modernization initiatives in support of mission priorities.
The successful candidate will work with a distributed team, including sponsors, MITRE staff in Germany, and additional MITRE SMEs in CONUS, to develop technical deliverables such as cloud migration plans, Zero Trust Architecture assessments, and theater network architecture development. Strong communication skills and the ability to link technical concepts to operational missions are essential.
This position requires a commitment and relocation for 3 years to Wiesbaden, Germany in support of our work with USAREUR-AF. The position is physically located in Wiesbaden, Germany, and collocated with the sponsor at the Army Europe-Africa Mission Command Center on Clay Kaserne. The position offer is contingent on the candidate's qualifying for Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) status.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with junior and senior team members to develop technical deliverables.
- Engage with sponsors and MITRE staff to respond to rapidly changing needs.
- Develop cloud migration plans, Zero Trust Architecture assessments, and theater network architecture development.
- Communicate complex concepts to different audiences.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with Army/DoD communications and information systems, and strategic cloud implementation.
