Research Scientist

In the rapidly evolving landscape of electronics, the integration of low-dimensional nanomaterials has emerged as a key area of research. The Carbon Nano Device group at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is at the forefront of this field, developing innovative procedures, processes, and technologies for the integration of these materials in micro/nanotechnological manufacturing lines.

The group's research focuses on the development of CNT-FET arrays, which hold promise for a wide range of applications, from AI-linked environmental and biosensor technology to hardware-integrated security primitives and breakthroughs in quantum computing or quantum sensor technology.

As a research scientist in this group, you will be responsible for carrying out systematic studies, primarily independently, focusing on intensive characterization using various methods such as electrical FET characterization, atomic force microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, surface profilometry, and absorption spectroscopy. You will also be expected to present your results and project progress during routine working group seminars, honing your presentation skills and scientific methodologies.

• Literature research
• Design of Experiment of scientific studies
• Methodological development with respect to research topic
• Characterization, evaluation, and scientific interpretation of results

• Studying physics, engineering (micro/nanotechnology), chemistry, or an equivalent degree program
• Basic knowledge of analytical characterization methods
• Independent and autonomous way of working
• Very good language skills in German and English
