Senior Level Artist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Level Artist to join our team at Ubisoft Düsseldorf. As a key member of our Art Team, you will be responsible for creating exceptional high-quality and playable game environments using our in-house engine.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Level Designers to support the creation of stunning game worlds and environments.
- Develop and implement high-quality level art content that meets technical and artistic standards.
- Define and manage resources from creation to placement, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Assess artistic content with Lead Artists and establish time and planning estimates by priority and level.
- Mentor junior team members, sharing technical and artistic knowledge to enhance their skills.
- Provide expertise and guidance on various artistic elements, finding solutions to complex issues that arise.
- Work closely with Art Teams and Level Design Team to develop an exceptional player experience.
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to confirm task direction and ensure consistency of work within the team.
- Document, asset brief, set up placeholders, and finalize in-game scenes with a focus on mood and storytelling.
- Collaborate with other Ubisoft teams worldwide on a daily basis.
- Manage scene assets, integrate, and optimize performance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the games industry.
- At least one shipped commercial AAA title.
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver results on time.
- Forward thinking, anticipating project needs with high self-motivation and initiative.
- Ability to accept feedback and adapt to change.
- Willingness to share experience with other artists and drive growth.
- Drive to push current workflows and seek improvements.
- Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
- Keen eye for composition, proportion, and sense of scale.
- Strong ability to tell stories through level art.
- Understanding and skills in lighting.
- Solid understanding of industry-standard 3D modeling packages and texture/material creation workflows.
- Ability to work with level art-specific techniques like scattering, terrain blending, etc.
- Solid understanding of Level Design.
