About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Director to lead our team in administering the International Tracing Service (ITS) and implementing policy decisions taken by the International Commission. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and administering the ITS, overseeing human resources management, and ensuring compliance with the 2011 Berlin Agreement and German Labour Law.
Job Description:
The Director will report directly to the International Commission and act as the Secretary of the International Commission. Key responsibilities include:
- Directing and administering the ITS
- Oversight of human resources management
- Implementing policy decisions taken by the International Commission
- Elaborating proposed priorities for the Arolsen Archives and setting out their financial implications
- Drawing up a draft annual work plan and budget estimate
- Submitting semi-annual reports on the activities of the Arolsen Archives
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An MBA or Master's degree in social sciences, history, international relations, archival science, communication, management, or a related field
- At least 10 years of management experience, managing large teams domestically and internationally
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge of contemporary history
- Experience in handling institutional change management
- International experience and cultural sensitivity
- Familiarity with AI technology and big data treatment
- Fluency in English and German; knowledge of French optional
Salary: €80,000 - €120,000 per annum, depending on experience
