Detector Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Detector Test Specialist to join our team at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics. As a key member of our detector development team, you will be responsible for designing experiments, characterizing DEPFET detectors, and developing test procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and execute experiments at complex measurement setups
- Characterize DEPFET detectors through experiment and analysis
- Define and document test requirements and create test procedures
- Support the verification of other instrument components
- Analyze data to determine characteristic detector properties
- Interpret and document results
- Extend data analysis programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Completed scientific university degree in physics or equivalent skills and experience
- Knowledge of semiconductor detectors
- Practical experience in dealing with measurement technology and data analysis
- Excellent team communication skills in written and spoken English
- Good knowledge of C++, ideally with experience in the ROOT framework
