Certara is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our Software division, focusing on expanding our market presence within established Enterprise Life Sciences organizations across Northern Europe. The successful candidate will ideally be based in the United Kingdom and will work remotely.
In this role, you will cultivate a comprehensive understanding of Certara's software offerings and collaborate closely to enhance our existing client relationships while pursuing new business opportunities. The position necessitates a solid grasp of the industry landscape, including competitive dynamics, critical challenges, and essential requirements, to effectively position our software solutions within your designated accounts.
This role demands a proactive approach, self-drive, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong aptitude for complex sales and a commitment to fostering relationships with clients and prospects within the assigned territory.
You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing strategies aimed at increasing business within existing accounts while also identifying and capturing new opportunities. A significant emphasis will be placed on sourcing, developing, and closing new business deals.
A keen awareness of growth initiatives related to the life sciences sector and an understanding of how Certara's solutions can address customer needs will be essential. Ultimately, you will be accountable for driving bookings and revenue growth through value creation for your clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and nurture relationships at multiple levels within your accounts, engaging with stakeholders including C-level executives.
• Assess potential clients and contacts to identify their key needs and challenges through thorough discovery and qualification processes.
• Drive sales by initiating contact with new clients, generating leads, and following up on assigned opportunities.
• Identify and pursue new client prospects within the life sciences domain.
• Enhance sales through effective solutions linkage and value-driven approaches.
• Create tailored solution presentations for clients and contribute to the proposal process, developing winning strategies based on client requirements and aligning Certara's software solutions with their needs.
• Collaborate with marketing to devise lead-generation strategies that will result in new revenue opportunities in your territory.
• Engage in industry trade shows and conferences, facilitating client meetings and lead generation activities.
• Maintain detailed records of communications and opportunity developments to ensure a comprehensive history of interactions and next steps.
• Leverage market insights and industry connections to expand the Software business in alignment with commercial objectives, including exploring new product opportunities and broadening existing accounts.
• Achieve or exceed sales targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Adhere to Certara's processes and best practices for managing Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs).
• Participate in regular sales meetings, providing accurate forecasts and updates as required. Required Qualifications
• 5-8+ years of successful experience in selling SaaS enterprise software solutions, preferably within the life sciences sector.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an advanced business degree is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail for documenting all sales interactions in Salesforce.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-energy team environment.
• Proficient in the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proven track record of achieving high sales performance in a competitive market.
• Fluent in English.
