Business Analyst Intern

Our Controlling team collaborates with Covestro's various departments to provide business insights. We refine our tools and processes to keep up with the latest standards in data analytics, reporting, and planning. Our Controlling department plays a crucial role in one of our major projects - making Covestro fully circular in the future. During your internship, you will work in Performance Materials Controlling, a department in the CFO area that supports Covestro's largest business entity.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support financial planning and forecasting processes, as well as track and analyze forecast deviations to help management efficiently run the operative business.
  • Contribute to strategy conferences and participate in strategic projects that help Covestro achieve its sustainability goals.
  • Perform detailed profitability analyses for different product groups and regions using statistical models.
  • Review and analyze marketing, sales, and manufacturing costs to help Covestro meet its cost targets.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for Covestro's high-level management team.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc analysis of relevant business data and project-related tasks, such as circular economy and energy-efficiency projects.
  • Conceptual work, including the optimization of existing tools, applications, and processes.

Requirements:

  • You are a Bachelor or Master student in Controlling, Accounting, Finance, or a comparable course of study.
  • Ideal candidates have already gained some practical experience in Controlling, Accounting, or Finance.
  • You have good user skills in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and high command of digitalization and automation skills is desirable.
  • You have an analytical mindset and enjoy communicating concepts and ideas with stakeholders on a global level.
  • You are able to multi-task and achieve a high quality standard at the same time.
  • Proficient German and English skills are required.

Please note that the duration of the internship is 4 to 6 months. After the first training sessions in Leverkusen, mobile working within Germany will be possible.
