Meteorological Trader

Vattenfall is seeking a skilled Meteorological Trader to join its Trading Analysis & Algorithms department. As a Meteorological Trader, you will be responsible for analyzing weather forecasts and their impact on the power and gas markets. Your main tasks will include communicating current weather developments to traders and portfolio managers, developing weather-driven trading strategies, and further developing quantitative weather models and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze weather forecasts and their impact on the power and gas markets
• Communicate current weather developments to traders and portfolio managers
• Develop weather-driven trading strategies
• Further develop quantitative weather models and tools

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in meteorology or a related field
• 3+ years' experience in operational weather forecasting
• Good hydrological and/or wind understanding
• Good mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills
• Good programming skills, particularly in Python
