Financial Accountant

Evonik is a leading producer of C4 chemicals with over 50 years of experience. The company is preparing to become independent after spinning off its C4 Chemicals business unit in 2023.

We produce precursors for plastics, coatings, lubricants, and specialty chemicals at our plants in Marl and Antwerp. Our focus is on resource-saving production and the use of new technologies.

As a Key Accountant (m/f/d) General Ledger, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Evonik Oxeno. Your responsibilities will include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, monitoring provisioning and posting of provisions, and reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements, including notes and management reports, in accordance with IFRS and HGB.
• Monitor provisioning and posting of provisions based on expert opinions.
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Prepare balance sheet in accordance with IFRS 16 (leasing/rental) and carry out analyses.
• Advise operational departments and controlling in the area of accounting.
• Review legal requirements and ensure compliance.

Requirements:

• Completed academic university degree in a relevant field.
• Several years of professional experience in a leading position in a communications department of a company.
• Diplomatic skills in dealing with various stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and written expression skills in German and English.
