Senior Scientific Researcher

As a key member of our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in the development of cutting-edge software solutions for analytic instrumentation. Your expertise in software development and research will enable you to conceive and implement feasibility experiments to demonstrate the proof of principle of new development concepts.
Our ideal candidate will ensure high experimental quality and deep theoretical penetration throughout all stages of product development, from research to serial production. They will also be responsible for embracing and overcoming complex or novel challenges by developing effective solutions and execution strategies, highlighting their problem-solving abilities.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with your colleagues to create control software for hardware components and play an important role in the product development process, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation. You will also be responsible for applying principles, rules, and strategies related to intellectual property when drafting invention disclosures, patents, publications, and presentations, ensuring the protection of innovative ideas and technologies.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently and structured in a detailed scientific manner. Experience in the field of mass spectrometry and its applications is appreciated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceive and implement feasibility experiments to demonstrate the proof of principle of new development concepts
- Ensure high experimental quality and deep theoretical penetration throughout all stages of product development, from research to serial production
- Embrace and overcome complex or novel challenges by developing effective solutions and execution strategies
- Collaborate closely with your colleagues to create control software for hardware components
- Apply principles, rules, and strategies related to intellectual property when drafting invention disclosures, patents, publications, and presentations
Requirements:
- Proven first years industrial or several years academic experience in development of sophisticated software solutions for analytic instrumentation
- Strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently and structured in a detailed scientific manner
- Effective and efficient in designing and implementing automated instrument tuning routines using Python or other scripting languages
- Demonstrate knowledge of Instrument control, scripting or automation of experiments
