At Plan A, we're dedicated to supporting businesses in their climate objectives. As an Engineering Manager, you'll play a crucial role in leading our Onboarding Squad and overseeing the development of our carbon emissions accounting product.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and prioritizing technical work in the squad, ensuring the team is clear on goals and objectives
  • Managing and coordinating project delivery according to timelines committed to by the squad
  • Providing a point of contact for stakeholders to address issues and communicate team progress
  • Establishing a reporting line with team members and supporting their day-to-day work and professional development
  • Identifying capacity gaps in the team and managing the hiring process to fill potential gaps

Requirements for this role include:

  • A pragmatic and user-centric mindset
  • Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering technical projects
  • Experience in driving technical and operational excellence within teams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • A strong technical background, with hands-on experience in software development (e.g. React, Typescript, Laravel, Python, PHP)
  • Knowledge and experience of agile development best practices, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint reviews, and defining and writing user stories
