As a Systems Engineer for Satellite Navigation, you will play a key role in the development of new system proposals for next-generation satellite navigation systems.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical/information technology, communications engineering, or a related field, and will have several years of experience in the field of satellite navigation and its supplementary systems. You will be responsible for the technical management of a research group and will work closely with our team of scientists to develop new high-performance architectures and concepts for satellite-based navigation.

Responsibilities- Develop new system proposals for next-generation satellite navigation systems
- Lead the technical management of a research group
- Work closely with our team of scientists to develop new high-performance architectures and concepts for satellite-based navigation
- Ensure high-precision time synchronization and time distribution within the space segment, as well as between the space and ground segments
- Develop new approaches of timekeeping and synchronization using optical free-space links
- Completed scientific university degree in electrical/information technology, communications engineering, or a related field
- Several years of experience in the field of satellite navigation and its supplementary systems
- Comprehensive technical and methodological knowledge of the relevant system characteristics for the development of new high-performance architectures and concepts of satellite-based navigation
- Proven experience in several of the relevant sub-areas of satellite navigation, such as antenna systems, receiver algorithms, optical laser links, time scales and references, signal and system performance, propagation effects and augmentation systems
- Sound knowledge and extensive experience in project management as well as planning, implementation and management of international research projects with interdisciplinary project teams
- Very good knowledge of English (business fluent)
- Security clearance as well as the willingness to security clearance pursuant to §§ 8 ff. Security Clearance Act (SÜG) is a condition for employment at DLR.
