The Role: Strategic Procurement Specialist

We're seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team. As a key member, you'll leverage your in-depth knowledge and experience to source equipment and materials that meet our business group strategy. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing holistic procurement strategies, navigating the global supply market, and ensuring seamless collaboration between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Procurement.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for selected commodities, aligning with our business objectives.
  2. Identify and source the most suitable components and systems, balancing technical and commercial requirements.
  3. Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms, considering factors like technical feasibility, volume demands, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
  4. Monitor and manage project targets related to material and tooling cost, as well as timeline.
  5. Stay up-to-date with global supply market developments, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  6. Collaborate with Engineering, Commercial, and Industrialisation to agree on future demand plans, materials, and equipment.

What You'll Bring:

  1. Experience in categories such as EE, Powertrain, Interiors, Exteriors, Accessories, Body, Chassis, or similar.
  2. Previous direct knowledge of procurement from concept-through-industrialisation-to-operation.
  3. Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivery.
  4. Able to demonstrate experiences in building and maintaining senior supplier relationships.
  5. Demonstrable strategic procurement experience and/or NPI (New Product Introduction).
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Good capability with Microsoft Office software and experience with SAP is desirable, training will be available.
  9. English language is mandatory, and German would be beneficial.
  10. Significant travel may be required for this role.
