Automotive Product Strategist

Position Summary:
This role is for an Automotive Product Strategist within the Seal, Protect & Switch division, concentrating on the Automotive Heat Shrink Tubing product line.
The individual in this position will oversee the Automotive Heat Shrink Tubing portfolio and play a crucial role in formulating a comprehensive vision for this product line across value drivers, particularly in the EMEA region.
This person will be responsible for all facets of the product lines in focus, from spearheading new product development to production, pricing, and marketing. Consequently, the role necessitates close collaboration with colleagues in Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing to achieve cross-functional and cross-Business Unit alignment and ensure the effective execution of the product roadmap.
Primary Responsibilities:
Market Analysis & Strategic Planning
Analyze market trends, demand influencers, customer requirements, and competitive landscape/benchmarking across regions. Provide insights to support the go-to-market strategy. Collaborate with R&D and operations in the creation of new products to fulfill current and future customer needs. Formulate the Product Business Plan. Oversee the product lifecycle by delivering product trend assessments. Assist in crafting the annual operating plan (Sales and gross or standard margin). Work collaboratively across functions and Business Units to achieve sales, technology, and operational strategies and objectives, aligned with financial targets.Implementation - New Product Development, Launch, and Post-Launch Activities
Conduct financial assessments to support new product launches and lead discussions with management for G1 and G2 opportunities. Collect product specifications and attributes for the creation of marketing materials, including e-catalogs. Provide product demand forecasting inputs to the S&OP process and actively engage in the cross-BU S&OP process. Execute pricing evaluations in preparation for catalog price adjustments or in response to specific pricing inquiries.Global Product Strategy Coordination
Engage in and lead global strategy initiatives. Drive portfolio decisions based on global strategy to enhance efficiency and increase profit margins. Optimize the global portfolio, including localization efforts, transfers, and product pruning based on customer demands. Focus on the proliferation of the existing portfolio through sales and customer evaluations with an increased emphasis on distribution. Lead global innovation discussions with engineering, FAE, and sales based on emerging market needs and customer requirements.Desired Qualifications:
Position Requirements:
Strong business insight, with a solid understanding of commercial and operational processes. 3+ years of product-focused experience or 1-3 years in Product Management or Product Strategy is required. A 4-year technical or business degree is required. An advanced degree or relevant P&L management experience is preferred.Essential Skills & Abilities:
