About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Technology Strategist to lead our efforts in shaping the current and future technology portfolio for Voith Hydro's electric machines globally.

This role presents a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's technological advancements, driving innovation, and ensuring Voith Hydro's leadership in the industry.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve our tools portfolio for electromagnetic, loss, and cooling calculations for electric machines, including the definition of calculation procedures.
  • You will explore new technologies applicable or adaptable for electric machines and define and execute R&D programs to maintain our technology leadership.
  • Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to a team of highly experienced experts.
  • Offer global support with efficiency, temperature, and cooling flow measurements for electrical machines.
  • B build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners within the R&D community, internal and external to Voith.
  • Foster and maintain cooperation with universities and research institutions in the scientific field of large electric machines, converter, and high-voltage technology.
  • Represent Voith at industry forums, conferences, and customer meetings.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A successfully completed Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field; a PhD is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and deep understanding of electric machine design principles and related technology.
  • Curious and willing to pursue new ideas.
  • Knowledge of and experience with lean project management tools.
  • Leadership experience is advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of simulation software and tools landscape for electric machine design is required.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and basic knowledge of German are required, as well as willingness to travel worldwide.

Estimated Salary: €120,000 - €180,000 per annum
