Strategic Construction Manager for Global Logistics Projects

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Construction Manager to join our Preconstruction team at Amazon Support Services Germany GmbH - I46. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for managing complex construction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting and contract execution.

Job Description:

As a Strategic Construction Manager, you will work closely with our design teams and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality buildings and capacity to meet customer needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Complex Projects: You will independently manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects, coordinating with design teams and project stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Scope Control and Progress Acceleration: You will keep the scope under control and accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, identifying and clearing blockers, and escalating appropriately.
  • Communication and Leadership: You will work with internal/external partners to drive results through communicating, weighing risks, clearing blockers, making decisions, leading and influencing.
  • Quality and Safety: You will oversee professional service providers ensuring their skills and competencies meet the required standards, and perform pricing reviews for scope inclusions/exclusions and negotiate the cost of the work with the developer, general contractor and design consultants.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field such as project management, real estate development, architecture/design.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, real estate development, architecture/design, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Preferred Qualifications: A Master's degree in a relevant field, experience operating within at least two disciplines in the construction industry, demonstrated capability in planning, design review & implementation, and project management/control of new structures & the enhancement of existing facility buildings.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is €80,000 - €100,000 per year, depending on your level of experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Travel Opportunities:

This role offers the opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures, with 30% of your time spent traveling either domestically or to other European countries.

Location:

This role will be based in Germany, with occasional travel to other locations throughout Europe.
